Prof. Ahmed Albarrak, Chairman and Research Chair of Health Informatics and Heath Promotion (RCHIP), and Chairman of Medical Informatics & E-Learning Unit (MIELU), College of Medicine from King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA, as chief editor, announces the Call for Chapters for the book “Medical Informatics: Design & Implementation”.
Book Description:
This book should include chapters and topics that describes the field of knowledge about Health informatics, the process of health digitization, data, information management in clinical practices. As stated by the proposed book title “Medical Informatics: Design and Implementation”, this book focuses on the planning, design and implementation of medical informatics (MI) methods, applications and tools in the healthcare industry to provide effective and efficient healthcare services. This book grasps a mixture of organizational and cultural perspective designing and adaptations of MI around the globe, especially in Middle East regions. This book also addresses organizational issues including technology integration, reluctance of change or acceptance and risk management, as well as cost benefits and cost effectiveness of advancing MI applications as novel forms of investment. Other topic like how to provide engaging informative education and evidence-based research to medical practitioners, medical students and medical consumers are also suggested to be highlighted in this book.
Target Audience
Policy makers, academicians, researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, technology developers, and government officials should find the titles and contents published within this book useful in furthering their system thinking exposure to pertinent topics in the field of study on MI and its implications on healthcare; and assisting in furthering their efforts of planning, designing and implementing MI. This book may be useful as a reference and guidance; e.g: as a textbook for MI subjects or courses.

Submission Procedure
Academicians, Researchers and professionals are invited to submit between 350 – 450 words abstract of chapter on or before the Feb 10th, 2019. This edited book aims at receiving academic contributions for manuscript between 5000-7000 words. All authors who submitted the abstract need to provide a brief author biography (less than 250 words), professional affiliation and publications. Authors need to send their documents as email attachments using doc, docx, but not pdf. The authors will be notified based on the schedule below. All submissions will undertake a peer-reviewed process. Please be notified that all contributors may be contacted and be requested to serve as reviewers of other chapters.
